Picture 13

Wow, thanks to friends and friends with Facebook, I got 295 hits on this blog yesterday.  That’s insane.  To put that in perspective, I’ve been averaging 5-10 views per day.  And it jumped to almost 300 yesterday.  I guess that Facething is good for something.  I haven’t joined yet, for many different reasons, but maybe one day I will.

Thanks to folks for spreading the word on the photo deal.  I’ve gotten some responses so far, so that’s been good!

I’m really tired!  I’ve been working on different things for my art show this weekend.  It’ll turn out that I’ll be going to San Francisco for seven days straight.  That’s totally crazy!  I guess someone’s got to pay for that new bridge!  Today I framed up my prints, and I just have a bit more work and I’ll be good to go!  Onto tmw!

A New Day

Monday, October 5th, 2009

I don’t believe that this blog has been very personal so far, as I’ve talked mostly about my art endeavers, and less about my internal wanderings. I think, that’s been telling of how I’ve been feeling lately. I’ve been a bit disconnected from how I’ve felt about life, and lost a bit of the optimism of past moments. There’s a pretty real correlation between how I feel, and my outlook, and how productive and inspired I am to be be creative. I’ve struggled a bit with coming up with new and inspiring ideas as of late. While my process ( screenprinting and drawing ) is a lot more refined, my mental focus is a bit off, as I’ve wondered more and more about ‘what I’m doing’.

So, I guess this is a short statement to say that I’m struggling a bit with the scope of my work, and well, my life.

Creative takes courage, and I’m trying to hold onto that.

Yellow rose

Here are some random pictures from Angela and David’s wedding in Santa Cruz, California.  I wasn’t hired to take pictures ( thank goodness because I have a lot of work to come ), but I took some shots while there.  They’re pretty fun(ny). (more…)

good feeling

East Bay Open Studios finished really well.  I was in San Luis Obispo for my sister’s college graduation, so I wasn’t able to make it Saturday.  Early on Sunday morning, I drove back up to the Oakland to attend the last day of the show.  To my surprise, one my art pieces was missing, and in it’s place was a nice red dot.  I was excited to hear the story of how the piece sold.  It’s a good feeling to have good things happen even when you’re not there.
